Batavia – Walter J. Henrici, 73, of Batavia, formerly of Middletown, NY, a banker for 35 years, most recently at M&T Bank in Monsey, NY, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at New York State Veteran’s Home, in Batavia. Mr. Henrici was born June 13, 1941 in Englewood, NJ, a son of the late Frank and Regina (Quigley) Henrici. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War, attended the American Institute of Banking, Pace University and was a member of Resurrection Parish’s St. Joseph’s Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. (Helfrich) Henrici whom he married November 25, 1967; a son, Christian M. (Denise) Henrici of Batavia; 3 grandchildren, Rachel Henrici, Ryan Henrici and Regan Henrici, all of Batavia and a brother, John (Eileen) Henrici of Norwood, NJ. He was the brother of the late Francis Henrici. Friends may call from 2 to5 p.m. Saturday at H.E. Turner & Co, Inc., 403 E. Main St., Batavia where a prayer service will follow at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Volunteers For Animals, P.O. Williamsville – Mrs. Marcy A. Marble, 89, of Williamsville, formerly of Oakfield, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital. Mrs. Marble was born February 26, 1925 in Oakfield, the daughter of the late Joseph and Onolee McCrillus Jesment. Mrs. Marble served as the Town of Oakfield Clerk for many years. She and her late husband previously attended Oakfield United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church of Elba. She has been faithful member of The Chapel at Crosspoint for many years. Mr. & Mrs. Marble sold their property on Drake Street to Rev. Herbert Durr and his group that started the Genesee Country Church in Oakfield. The house they sold to the church was the house she was born in. She enjoyed traveling with her son Randy, having spent Christmas in Florida for the past ten years. She enjoyed watching The Doctors and Dr. Oz and often took notes on her tablet so she could remember their medical information. Her husband, Ralph E. Marble, passed away on December 9, 2002. She is survived by her son, Randy Marble of Williamsville, brother-in-law, Donald (Karen) Marble of Caledonia; sister-in-law, Mildred (late Nort) Hale of Batavia and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is the sister of the late Melvin Jesment and sister-in-law of the late Raymond (Bernice) Marble. Oakfield – Mr. Augustine Robert Fenello, 76, of Oakfield, a self-employed hairdresser for over 40 years, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the New York State Veteran’s Home. Mr. Fenello was born October 13, 1937 in Batavia, a son of the late Benjamin, Sr. and Florence Picirillo Fenello. A member of St. Padre Pio Parish – Oakfield worship site, Mr. Fenello was a member of the Buffalo Hairdresser Association and the Oakfield-Alabama American Legion. He served with the United States Navy from 1956-60 where he was an aviation mechanic for Patrol Squadron Eight. As a jack of all trades, Mr. Fenello spent much of his spare time building, remodeling and fixing whatever was needed by any friends or family. He was a diehard Notre Dame Football and New York Yankees fan. However, his greatest passion was simply spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Fenello was the beloved husband of Shirley Rademacker Fenello whom he married June 16, 1962; loving father of Michael (Suzanne) Fenello of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania and Michele (Brian) Telga of Chili; brother of Nicholas (Sarah) Fenello of Batavia; brother-in-law of Dino Giordano of Hilton, Gary (Mary Rose) Rademacker of Batavia, Wayne (Leslie) Rademacker of Oakfield, Sylvia Rademacker of Akron and Connie McClure of Batavia; cherished grandfather of Cody, Caitlin and Nicolette Fenello of Cranberry Township, PA and Zachary and Alexis Telga of Chili and loving uncle of fifteen nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Fenello, Jr.; sister, Ruth Giordano; and brother-in-laws Allan and Dean Rademacker Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Mr. Jerry S. Wasiulewski, 62, of Oakfield, died Saturday (August 30, 2014) at his home in Oakfield while under the care of his loving family and Hospice. Jerry was born September 23, 1951 in Stafford, England, the son of Peter Wasiulewski of Oakfield and the late Mary (Gadawa) Wasiulewski, who died in 2003. Jerry loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandson and was proud of being a union carpenter with the Local 280 in Niagara Falls. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. Surviving along with his father are his wife, Jean (Sweet) Wasiulewski of Oakfield; five children, Rachil (Billy) Oliver of Bennettsville, SC, Travis (Stacie) Wasiulewski of Batavia, Crystal (Scott) Dugan of Albion, Jeri Marie Diaz of Albion and Maryann Forsha of Albion; seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is a grandfather of the late April Diaz who died in 1997. Calling hours are Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Mrs. Gertrude K. Beswick, 92, wife of the late Robert L. Beswick, who died in 2005, died Sunday (August 31, 2014) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville. She was born December 10, 1921 in Matheson, Ontario, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Ester Nordstrum Nyquist. Mrs. Beswick enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished seamstress. Before her husband’s passing they frequently traveled, often times with the men he served with in the US Army during WWII. She was especially fond of her cat, Lily and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia. Survivors include three children, Stephen L. Beswick of Batavia, Pamela (Rodney) Herdegon of Batavia and Bruce (Doreen) Beswick of Rye, NY; six granddaughters, Kelley Caffo, Jamie Beswick, Stacey Daprizio, Stephanie D’Alba, Kathryn Johnston and Allison Beswick; four great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late Ester M. Scoins and M. Lillian Rice. Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Victoria Reese, 72, of Batavia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday (September 15, 2014) with her loving sister and care taker Betty Martin by her side. Victoria’s sunrise was on September 8, 1942 and sunset on September 15, 2014. Victoria was born in North Carolina but grew up in Avoca, NY, to the late Victor Cole and Leola Grey. Victoria was a member of the church Prayeroom Storehouse in Buffalo and served on the Usher Board for many years. She served as a member of the Christian Counsel for Women. When she lived in Toledo, Ohio she was the supervisor for a bottling company for many years before she moved to Batavia and worked as an assistant supervisor at Melton Shirt Factory before she retired. Victoria enjoyed gardening, cleaning and decorating her home. She also enjoyed reading her bible. Surviving are her daughters, Vickie L. Cole and Addie Jean Cole; and a son, Clinton James Reese; grandchildren, Sean M. Cole and Tonya Lee Cole; great- grandchildren, Miekesá Leola Smith and four other great- grandchildren; sister, Pastor Hazel Tucker; brother, Ted Cole and sister, Betty Martin; Goddaughters Peaches and La Margaret; loving niece, Betty Cherry and great- niece, (Little) Betty Cherry along with many great nieces, great nephews, relatives, friends and church family. Batavia – Mr. Lawrence H. “Hog Jaw” Towne, age 64, of Batavia, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 at his home. He was born April 4, 1950 in Batavia, a son of Betty Morrow Towne of Batavia and the late Harold Towne. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and lived his life to the fullest. He is survived by his children, Eric (Alissa) Towne of Oakfield and Lacey Ruth of Batavia; six grandchildren, Justice Lawrence Towne of Batavia, Jaden and Connor Goras, Bailey, Ethan and Elijah Towne, all of Oakfield; six step-children, Christina, Shawna and Tiffany Romo, Lindsay and Anna Brogden and Bonnie Matley and several nieces and nephews. Rochester – Lucille A. “Lucy” Sewell, age 97, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Brightonian Nursing Home in Brighton. Mrs. Sewell was born on December 30, 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the only child of the late Edward and Ottie Nolcox Story. She graduated from Girls High School in Brooklyn in the mid thirties and became the owner of a restaurant there. She graduated, Magna Cum Laude from and became a teacher at North Eastern Bible College in New Jersey. She received her Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling and Education from the Biblical Theological Seminary, was the former pastor at the Gospel Tabernacle in Rochester and worked in a social agency which served senior citizens. She is survived by her niece, Joy (Shep) Shepard of Los Angeles, CA. Friends may call from 10 to 11 on Tuesday at H.E. Turner & Co., Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Merry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Bergen. Batavia – Rodney A Smith, 55, of Batavia, a Machine Operator at Whiting Overhead Door, in Akron, passed away Sunday, (September 21, 2014) at Crossroads House, in Batavia. Mr. Smith was born January 21, 1959 in Medina, a son of Laverne Smith of Basom and the late Marilou (Goetz) Smith. He served his country honorably with the Marine Corps from 1978-1983 and received a Navy Unit Commendation while serving in Lebanon. Rod was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia and for several years coached youth football. He will be remembered for his love for his children, his Miami Dolphins and the Marine Corps. Rodney is survived by his children, Adam Smith of Batavia and Heather (Tim) Pahuta of Henrietta; a brother, Randy Smith of Basom; sisters, Rebecca (Mike) Cherry of Oakfield and Rosalie (Richard) Robinson of Basom; nieces and nephews, Michael (Cara) Robinson of North Port, FL, Benjamin and Jessica Cherry of Oakfield, and Lola Robinson of North Port, FL. Oakfield – Mr. Marcus F. Crandall, age 55, of Oakfield, passed away on September 23, 2014 at his home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice with his loving wife by his side. Mr. Crandall was born January 12, 1959 in Batavia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Joyce Cortright Crandall. Mr. Crandall retired in 2011 from Rochester Local 435 where he was a laborer/foreman for 22 years. A dedicated and faithful member of the Genesee Country Church, Mr. and Mrs. Crandall enjoyed their horses and horseback riding together. An avid carpenter and woodworker, Mr. Crandall, along with his wife built their home in Oakfield. He enjoyed tinkering around with old Ford cars and most of all cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1977-1981. Mr. Crandall was stationed in Okinawa, Mt. Fuji, and Korea. Stateside he was stationed in Yuma, Arizona and Sanmataio, California. Mr. Crandall received ranking of Lance Corporal/ Corporal Meritoriously. Mr. Crandall was unable to continue his career in the military due to an injury he received while on duty in Sanmataio, California. Mr. Crandall is survived by his wife, Barbara Falker-Crandall whom he married August 23, 2003; his children, Jacob (KatieLee) Crandall of Amherst, James (Molly Smith) Crandall of Alexander, Joliene (Chris Pritchard) Crandall of Batavia, Joshua (Samantha Anastisia) Crandall of Amherst, Despina (Mitch) Regan of Oakfield, Maria (Andrew) Thompson of Oakfield and Lazaros (Brittany Kessler) Solomonidis of Oakfield; nine grandchildren, Gabriel, Sunset and Aurora Crandall, Gavin and Preslee Crandall, Dakota Palmer, Paige Schultz, Amelya Regan and Emma Thompson; four sisters, Kathleen (Leonard) Moultrip of Arizona, Darlene Weger of Georgia, Cheryleen (Paul) Morrow of Batavia, Tammileen (Clifford) Heap of Perry, and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Michael and Russell Crandall. Oakfield – Chad M. Armbrewster, 40, of Oakfield, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer with the US Department of Homeland Security in Batavia for the past 17 years, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia. Mr. Armbrewster was born October 3, 1973 in Medina, the son of Gerald (Debbie) Armbrewster of Oakfield and Carolyn “Carrie” (Menclewicz) (Gerard) Wittmeyer of Medina. He was the son-in-law of Beverly (DeSmith) Beckley of Oakfield and grandson of Nancy Gallaway of Oakfield. Mr. Armbrewster graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from Buffalo State College and was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish. He was a talented artist. He enjoyed spending time with his family in outdoor activities. He was an avid muscle car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Sonja (Beckley) Armbrewster, whom he married August 9, 2002; 2 sons, Gaige Armbrewster and Gavin Armbrewster, both of Oakfield; two sisters: Jeannine Armbrewster of Medina and Natalie (James) Emerson of Oakfield, 2 step-brothers, Jeffery (Laurie) Wittmeyer and Joseph Wittmeyer, both of Medina; 2 step-sisters, Mary Beth (Chris) Cook and Pamela (Kenneth) Johnson, both of Medina; a brother-in-law, Christopher (Pati) Beckley of VA; a sister-in-law, Sarah (Sean) Johnson of Caledonia; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard Moon

Richard D. Moon, 70, a longtime resident of Oakfield, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, September 25, 2014. A disabled veteran who served two tours of duty in Vietnam, Mr. Moon was formerly employed at Kistner Concrete and Chapins Manufacturing. He was a dedicated volunteer presently serving his community as an election inspector, a Historical Society and Planning Board member and a long time worker in the local thrift shops. Before his retirement, he also volunteered with the area’s Boy Scouts and Little League organizations and was always willing to help anyone in need. Mr. Moon was born on June 19, 1944 to the late Ellsworth and Ruth Richardson Moon in Oil City, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace; three step-children, Terry (Wayne) Shamblin of Oakfield, Leslie Ann Hintz of Elba and Ronald (Diane) Hintz of Robertsdale, Alabama; two grandchildren, Katie (James) Pinson and Andrew (Kara) Shamblin of Oakfield. He was known as “Pumpkin” to three great-granddaughters, Ashlyn, Lila and Aleah. He enjoyed spending time with his grand-dog, Angus. Other family members who will deeply miss him include a brother and two sisters, Ellsworth Moon of Butler, Pennsylvania, Peggy Vistins of Franklin, Pennsylvania and Donna Taylor of Conneaut, Ohio; a brother- and sister-in-law, Tim and Linda Richter of Oakfield; a mother-in-law, Olive Richter; two uncles, Kenneth Peacock and Kenneth Richter, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends. He was predeceased by his two brothers Robert and Bill Moon. Mr. Moon loved reading books, traveling to new places, and attending Chinese auction fund raisers on most weekends with his wife “Maggie.” The couple recently returned from a trip to Cape Cod, where he became known as “Cupcake” by a bus load of travel companions. Richard Moon loved talking to people and made friends everywhere he went. To honor his wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. Donations may be made in his honor directly to the Wounded Warriors.

Mr. William P. Liles, 76, of Bradenton, FL, died Saturday (September 27, 2014) at the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. William was born December 20, 1937 in Pavilion, a son of the late Robert and Ruby (Ruck) Liles. A veteran, he served with the United States Army. William was an avid sports fan and loved watching sports and playing bingo. He also enjoyed attending farm shows and tractors. Survivors include two sons, Christopher (Valerie) Liles of Byron and Jeremy (Sandy Stout) Liles of Batavia; one brother, David (Marilyn) Liles of Bergen; one sister, Marcia Weber of Batavia; his life companion, Nancy Haggerty of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. There are no prior calling hours. Services with full military honors will be held at a later date at Byron Cemetery, Byron. Oakfield – Dominic P. Cervone, 89, of Oakfield, a construction worker with the Rochester Labor Union, until his retirement, died suddenly on Friday, October 3, 2014 at his home. Mr. Cervone was born July 28, 1925 in Batavia, the son of the late Peter and Amelia (Vandetta) Cervone. He served during WWII with the US Army, was a member of St. Cecelia’s Church, Hiram G. Luman American Legion Post in Basom and the former St. Nicolas Club in Batavia. He enjoyed the out of doors, sun bathing and socializing with people including his friends at the Pok-a-dot. He also enjoyed cooking, gardening and the Yankees. He dearly loved his family. His dear wife, Nancy (Paolucci) Cervone, died January 3, 2008. Survivors include four children, Peter Cervone of Rochester, Dominic Cervone, Jr. of Batavia, Donna (Emanuele) Neth of Holley and Ronald (Ann) Cervone of Oakfield; a sister, Josephine A. Cervone of Batavia; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Sandra Ann Sollie and brother of the late Laura Sinibaldi, Irene Emmi, Blanche Ricci, Louise (late Anthony) Martino. Harriet Kustas

Harriet G. Kustas, 91, retired owner of the Palace of Sweets, Gentleman Jim’s Restaurant, Short Stop and The Hiding Place, all located in the Batavia City Centre, died Saturday (October 4, 2014) at her home in Batavia. Mrs. Kustas was born August 11, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Gus and Beatrice (Hanson) Sapharas. While growing up in Cleveland she attended Mt. Pleasant Elementary School, Nathan Hale Middle School and graduated in 1940 from John Adams High School where she played the violin and the piano. During the Depression she traveled with the school orchestra to California to perform. In Cleveland, after graduation from High School, she worked for Goodyear Aircraft during WWII aiding the war effort in the manufacturing of airplanes. During her younger days she passed by a Church in Cleveland and heard gospel music being played. As a result of this encounter she became a devout Christian and accepted Christ to be her Savior. She also enjoyed country music and watching movies starring Barbara Stanwyck and John Wayne. In 1945 she married George J. Kustas, who died in 1988. Together they operated Kustas Restaurant on Main St. in Batavia for many years. The restaurant was a popular choice for high school students who learned to love Mrs. Kustas and often times sought her advice. A hardworker, she never complained and was making and packaging candy up until the summer of 2013. Survivors include three sons, James G. Kustas of Batavia, Theodore G. Calling hours are Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon at Grace Baptist Church, 238 Vine Street, Batavia. Services will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm. on Tuesday, also at the church. Local services have been arranged for Barbara Ann Falleti, 65,who died on Saturday (Sept. 27, 2014) in Naples, Fla. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Batavia on Friday, October 17, 2014 (please note date) at 9:30 am. Following the Mass friends and family are invited to Bohn’s Restaurant, Clinton St., Batavia. If unable to attend the Mass you are welcome to go directly to Bohns’ Restaurant at 10:30 am. Barbara and her husband, Gino moved from Batavia to Naples 10 years ago. Barbara loved living in Naples and during their years here they made many wonderful friends and memories. For the last 16 months she fought breast cancer with great courage and dignity. She will be remembered as a gentle and caring soul. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Gino; her parents, Cosmo and Patricia Irrera of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Suzanne (John) McCarthy of San Diego, Calif.; and loved by several nephews and nieces, Frank (Emily) Falleti of Batavia, Maria Falleti of State College, Pa., Anthony (Pam) Falleti of Rochester, Antonino (Michelle) Falleti of Batavia, Mary (Cory) Brown of Rochester and Vincent (Michelle) Falleti of Batavia; brothers-in-law, Domenico (Julia) Falleti of Batavia and Rocco (Betty) Falleti of Batavia. Oakfield – Randall W. Johnson, 88, of Oakfield, a Crew Chief at Agway in Batavia, prior to his retirement, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his home in Oakfield under the care of HCR. Mr. Johnson was born April 26, 1926 in Batavia, a son of the late Clarence and Pearl (Amos) Johnson. He served during World War II with the US Navy, was an avid deer hunter and supported Duck’s Unlimited. He was a dear family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elenor (Gibson) Johnson; four children, David (Joyce) Clawson of FL, Rose (Mark) Weidner of Oakfield, Mary (William) Riley of Lyndonville and Mark (Rebecca Cook) Johnson of Bergen; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Scotty R. Johnson and Rebecca J. Riley and brother of 3 late brothers and 4 late sisters. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave, Oakfield, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Cecelia’s Cemetery in Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Jamestown – Mary Helen Wiedrich, “Mrs. Mary”, 80, of Jamestown and formerly of Batavia, passed peacefully at home on October 10, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born July 10, 1934 in Batavia, to the late Ezra and Julia (Beecher) Votry. Mary was retired from the Pembroke Central School System. She enjoyed trips to the casino, spending time with her grandchildren and knitting, especially baby blankets, hats and sweaters for newborn babies. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Wiedrich of Batavia, whom she married on April 16, 1955 and made a loving home for 59 years. Mary is also survived by her children, Diana (Douglas) German of Batavia, Scott Wiedrich of Jamestown and Lori Ingels of Phoenix, AZ; two grandsons, Timothy German of Buffalo and Christopher Dawson of Phoenix, AZ; a sister-in-law, Lucille Votry of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Robert, Howard (Marilyn) and Richard (Ethel) Votry. Calling hours are Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Pam S. Klotzbach of the First United Methodist Church of Batavia. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen, P. O.
